Anne-Marie Berger explores the effect of construction beyond St. Louis to the small town of Bloomsdale. The Establishment Creek Bridge, constructed in 1932, has been determined deficient by MODOT, The Missouri Department of Transportation and is being restored. The closure of this bridge will affect many people in the area, who depend on the bridge to get into town. Local residents understand the inconvenience this construction will cause, but agree that it is necessary. In order to meet the needs of today’s traffic, the bridge must be completely demolished and replaced.\
