Ruth Ezell highlights the new concert series from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Launched in the symphony’s 2006-2007 season, Classical Detours is an hour-long concert and happy hour on Friday evenings that features light-hearted music from countries around the world. At a time when orchestra audiences are getting older, the Detours program was created in an attempt to make classical music more appealing to a younger audience.
